As Principal of Orion Coopers, I am proud to lead a community where every child is known, valued, and supported to thrive. We are a fully comprehensive secondary school for pupils aged 11 to 18, and part of the Orion Education Trust – a partnership rooted in excellence, equity, and opportunity.

Our vision is clear: we are a thriving community where pupils achieve strong progress, attend with purpose, and no child is left behind regardless of background or need. Every classroom reflects our high expectations, and our pupils lead with integrity, wearing their uniform with pride and managing their behaviour with maturity.

Orion Coopers Celebrate Another Year of Exam Success 

We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 pupils as they receive their GCSE results. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, determination and resilience they have shown throughout their time at Orion Coopers.

This year, 65.5% of pupils achieved a Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths, with 46.4% achieving a Grade 5 or above. Both measures remain above the national average. There were strong outcomes across a range of subjects, alongside improvements in Mathematics, Computer Science, Media Studies, Science, French and PE.

 We are delighted to celebrate a significant improvement in our Sixth Form results this summer, with Orion Coopers recording the strongest improvement at Key Stage 5 across the Orion Education Trust.

The average A-level grade rose from a C to a C+, with the majority of subjects improving their average grade. 

Behind these results are the individual achievements of our students, many of whom have secured places at first choice university destinations. We are enormously proud of the commitment and ambition they have shown and wish them every success in the next stage of their lives.
